Help with CRV import

  • Hi

Apologies for writing in english in an obviously german forum. I could do French, but I am not sure it is understood as well as English in other parts of Switzerland yet!

I am looking for help/guidance on what to do with a 2009 CRV EX 4WD we imported from Canada with us to Geneva.

I am being asked to change the turn signal from an orange color to a white color. However I am affraid that the turn signal light is part of the light block, forcing me to change the whole thing (which I am sure will cost a fortune). Any advice for me?

    Thanks!

    Etienne

  • Most likely there is no other possibility than to buy EUDM CRV headlights.

Only other option would be that you open the headlights and recolour it, but I wouldnt especially if it is a new car.

Best would be to go and check your local junkyards maybe you are lucky and find a CRV of which you could use the headlights.

You will undoubtedly have more fun in a slower car driven very fast than a fast car driven moderately slow.

  • I went to a honda garage here and they weren't that helpful. Other than clarifying that position lights aren't the same as flashing lights (for some reason I got mixed between both), they confirmed there's no real other way than changing the light.

However they weren't able to confirm if the lights from here would fit the same way with the same cables (are flashing lights and the 3 other types of lights positioned the same way or not). Neither did they know if the frame was exactly the same.

So I am still lost on what to do. I found a place in France where I could order OEM parts for 160 EUR a piece (so 320 EUR total for both headlights). But will that work? Any more advice for me?

  • Do you know if the chassis code in the US is different than here? If not I think (but not sure) that they should fit. Did you check the internet for something like a CRV Forum? Maybe they could help.

    etc..

The CRVs are rather limited in this forum.
